I dusted off my music computer and started to gather ideas for my new upcoming live set. It sounds kinda weird but Its how its supposed to sound, believe me.
I`ve been playig around with the guitar and vocals, composing, like styles I haven`t touched in years. Let`s see when I get into focus mode were all this ideas will merge and will finally crystallize.
Me thinks this is gonna be one of my last tracks done only with the laptop (2 am, completely tired and half asleep), and no outside controllers or instrument (which I use, to it`s proper degree, but i wanna get back to using it more when composing on the lap top). Playing live I want to bring a MC-303. Let`s see how things advance, how things develop.
Hola.
Dale, Entra, y dale tu voto.
Two Venezuelan Bands are in rotation in MTV Latinoamerica. And I urge people to send their “Votes”, not so to place em in the cliched top 10, along Lady Gaga or whoever, but to push some kind of change towards the attitude of music that is made here in Venezuela or in Latinoamerica in the wide picture, at the Global South Burroughs. Therefore placing the spot light in Venezuelan bands, and everything thats cooking up round here, that someday it has to explode far and wide. Too many good bands hanging around.

Another week, another delivery from team Zup. How long guys, doing the comic thing interrupted, with high quality standards? 1 year? 2 years ( I was sent back one of my drawings, for valid reasons. Now I just gotta find days with 27 hours, which I will, and resend em a comic strip. No psychedelic drawings. That´s for the Fanzines.) Anyways, this is an awesome Digital pressing, like most of em, check it out!!!
I moved to Madrid Spain at a relatively early age, when really no one was doing the massive Exodus, so things I guess were different at that time. (of course, some 10 years ago). The first thing I did was hit town, go to la FNAC, and check out the concerts that were available. I really never stopped. Tickets were sometimes out of my reach, but I now wish that I had attended more concerts and festivals. This is a suggestion to friends who live abroad. All the same I attended blues and Jazz concerts bi-tri weekly cuz I had one of the most fab bars 3 minutes from my apartment. And I never stopped going to Rock n Roll bars to hear new music and just hang out or dance. Time well spent.
So I decided to place in mah Blog the concerts I´ve attended and if I remember the Venues and the Year. That will come in the updates, cuz I cant remember all the concerts I`ve attended over the years. This is like one fourth of them, I guess. Anyways, here goes my list of attended concerts over the last 10 years while away from Venezuela, or London, If you want to put it like that. (I left a whole bunch out, that while I remember hearing em, them bands didn´t moved me!)
check check check (!!!)

Biggups To A.

Oh Teatro bar, repent while there´s time. Asi, en ingles, para que lo entienda todo el mundo.

One of my Fav Caracas band is playing in a controversial place, where I was reprimanded for wearing my pants low and showing my boxers, on a “Funk” showcase night. Most of the bar attenders are really ewky and seem to never have stepped out of their porch. And their ultimately sin in all religions: rumor has it that they do not treat very nicely the musicians who play their venue. Now, that`s the biggest no no, but there`s still time to repent, Oh Teatro Bar. Am gonna attend the concert (My friends Los Humanoides are playing), and not really measure this things, but I can sense em, having spent years and years of attending all type of concerts/parties/music get togethers in all type of venues all over the place. They have a marvelous taxi company nearby, pretty much inconsistent tough, that cannot pass unsurpassed, and seems that the sound in the music venue is one of the best sounding in all Caracas. Am pretty sure A. – Excelsior friend of the House – and Live Sound Engineer of Los Humanoides, can Boost the quality of any Live Configuration, better than any gel haired stucked up engineer. So am gonna enjoy that night with sound and friends, like I always do.
I think it`s pretty cool to get to like a lot of different genres of music, and really get deep into it, so to keep it on the one. I think it was 2 or 3 years ago, when I saw a double set of The Family Stone Project on a beach in Santa Cruz, CA. It was mind blowing. It had original members, that you could recognize at first sight, as well as new players. It`s more than fair: other Funk Groups with intense ties have changed over the years it`s alignment (JB`s, Parliament-Funkadelic, Maceo Brown, The Isley Brothers, etc) and have kept doing marvelous music. In Rock, Pop, or all its variations, seems to be different. Sometimes we just hope one of our favorite Band gets together, again. Something we just hope to stumble across a news article that tells us that they´ve been reunited by some sort of magical fate. But the important thing, is, like I say, the music. The people who make it and the people who really listen, be it that they play and instrument, or not, are one. Sometimes happens that people who play or own various instruments are as far away from the core of music as they can be. That`s a whole other department that I don`t comulgate with and keep afar. I keep pushing away till it`s just one big party on stage. A serious act. The whole 9 yards. Commitment and support in all forms. Be it Punk, Folk, or Pop. Knowing the “principles” (so to speak) by which each one was founded and carried out, I only see similarities. And black-out the differences. This is one subject I can go for hours talking about, which am not gonna do now, but I`ve been known to do. With great success cuz everyone on ship thinks alike, but we all are somehow different, being the same.
While I have a set line for my sexuality (straight), confirmed by years and years of failed external attempts for a cross-over, zero chance in attempts for my conversion by gay male populata wanting a piece of this pie, some of my friends are really the whole rainbow, the whole spectrum. I`ve had wondefull friends who were male as well as girls that haven`t comed up with a set statute for their sexuality, and that`s fine with me, as long as they are feeling good, as long as they`re ok with it and their surroundings, and are conformable with it. As long as they treat themselves with respect, as well as treated by others with respect. So what the word “Gay” really speaks to me, is about Gay Rights, and that what they do it`s their own business, and that we should support their efforts. I`ll keep this post short, cuz to me it´s a normal thing. But again, that we all are in this fight to erase a certain degree of discrimination, is undeniable. So, if I know that someone has a set sexuality, like Gay for example, can mean tons of things. I list:
That they are Gay, and only like to make out with people of their own genre.
That they are Gay, but are Bi, and can make up with both genres.
Again, that they are Gay, and are open to enjoy making out with both genres, but only have relationships with the same genre. Gay/Bi
That they are Bi, and get into relationships with their own genre, and with the opposite, and make out with both. So they have freedom to make out with whoever they want. They party hardy, basically.
And all the possibilities and combinations that this scenario brings.
So people have plenty were to choose. So I don´t label anything or really worry too much about it. Be gay and be happy, don`t be gay and be happy too.
So now everybody thinks everybody is a Photographer because they take an automatic digital camera, hooked it up to some semi professional lights that fall, and take like 200 shots a minute. A professional only uses organic cameras, not digital, and if so, does not take 200 photographs a minute. And every shot is a palpable accurate one with the tongue and the camera obturation and quickness response controls. They take manual control of the camera. I practice what I preach. The whole involvement with the studio to achieve accurate colors is lost, and I have some great friends who can achieve this in the New York Area. Just got to get a hold of them from here, from Caracas. And then am the snub.

This is a photograph that I posted in my FB some time ago, called “Stairway to Nowhere”. Is full of art, professionalism, and art.
It´s part of my series “Am making a Living being a Photographer, Ma`”.

Be sure from more to come from this series, I have a whole bunch more in record.
I , always steady ready and fast, in the search of truth in this and another galaxies, had 2 inquiries to ask the great knower of all things. My search began with great excitement, a big sense of wonder, full capacity of RAM and Memory in my head, measured in Terabytes, and only 6 rules to live by. This is the part were people laugh. And I went over, crossed the globe with big adventured and foes, to come up with 2 big question that will re-define what my future will be like. Look for yourself:
And:
Pretty dull. If I search myself am pretty sure to come up with something else than what it came up with. I tough this search engines had already big cellular organic brains attached to it, with fiery wires. I`ll do the same search a year from now, just to see if the results have changed. Maybe with different words and like not exactly a year from now. This is my second try. My first try of his great experiment was posted in a Tumblr I had, and the results were amazing. It went along the weirdest thing line etc etc. Am gonna retrieve to my day to day and see what other interesting experiments I can find with search engines. Maybe tomorrow I´ll jump again into the great vast and do another Google Experiment.
