Music Binge Ketchup.
Well, I had decided that this holiday seasons, errr, vacations, when the city is practically empty and you can feel the laziness and the peace of a deserted concrete canvas, I was gonna go on a music binge. Then I got the flu, contemplated a playstation, chess, movies in bed week, but I took advantage of my state of being, and kept doing music. But couldn´t sing. I have already finished 3 songs, kinda in demo mode, but when doing things fast for some reason is all I can deliver. And yes, long vacations are calling. A tired mind and body can do only what a tired mind and body can do.
Anyways, I got the latest version of Ableton Live, without the msp, and I got the bug, the Itch of making Live sets again. And that´s very tricky. I know this for a fact. I have made my round arounds with my past live sets which I think hold some type of interesting musical concepts, but without glory or defeat. Ama gonna try again, cuz it´s fun making all these weird noises with the computer. This city it´s way too violent at times, things get depredatory to a level it´s hard to imagine and to live in it´s National Geographic worth, but again, nature develops and keeps on going. Basicly all this mumbo jumbo can be translated that when I stared playing loud and fast with tons of distortion and a banging punk drum machine I started getting gigs way faster than when it was just me, with my voice at the mic and my SG alone. The noise part of my set belongs to another chapter of my music, I was never so proud as when someone who was giving me advices of playing covers live “so people could remember me” asked me why did I used techno samples when that weird techno drum sound came on. That was a classic Hip Hop 808 Beat and it was a pure noise session going on in full swing. The guy was a guitar player from a known Caracas band. Hi.
So yeah, am digging today deep into Ableton aiming at finally setting up with a nanoKontrol a final live set, and just take it from there. I couldnt play Country/Folk music on my own, the blues guys wanted to play in pizza places “one scoth and beer and one whatever” and “hoochie cochie man” all day and night, the Alternative-Indie-who_the_fuck_knows kids didn´t wanted to practice everyday, nor fix things on their own and start paying dues, but did wanted to make a living of music, screw em. Me, like most of my friends, we´re making and producing music, in all genres, everyday. Catch us if you can. (And some are doing fabulously great)
