22.May.2010 Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin.
I think it`s pretty cool to get to like a lot of different genres of music, and really get deep into it, so to keep it on the one. I think it was 2 or 3 years ago, when I saw a double set of The Family Stone Project on a beach in Santa Cruz, CA. It was mind blowing. It had original members, that you could recognize at first sight, as well as new players. It`s more than fair: other Funk Groups with intense ties have changed over the years it`s alignment (JB`s, Parliament-Funkadelic, Maceo Brown, The Isley Brothers, etc) and have kept doing marvelous music. In Rock, Pop, or all its variations, seems to be different. Sometimes we just hope one of our favorite Band gets together, again. Something we just hope to stumble across a news article that tells us that they´ve been reunited by some sort of magical fate. But the important thing, is, like I say, the music. The people who make it and the people who really listen, be it that they play and instrument, or not, are one. Sometimes happens that people who play or own various instruments are as far away from the core of music as they can be. That`s a whole other department that I don`t comulgate with and keep afar. I keep pushing away till it`s just one big party on stage. A serious act. The whole 9 yards. Commitment and support in all forms. Be it Punk, Folk, or Pop. Knowing the “principles” (so to speak) by which each one was founded and carried out, I only see similarities. And black-out the differences. This is one subject I can go for hours talking about, which am not gonna do now, but I`ve been known to do. With great success cuz everyone on ship thinks alike, but we all are somehow different, being the same.
